You Know Your Emails Need Work. Here’s Where to Actually Start.

Here’s something I hear constantly: “I know my emails aren’t working. I just don’t know what to fix first.”

Which, ok. Honestly, that’s a perfectly fine place to start. That’s the beginning of actually solving it.

The tricky part is that “email marketing” covers a lot of ground — your list, your lead magnet, your subject lines, your sequences, your CTAs, your metrics, whether or not your dog and/or child is sick, whether or not Mercury is in retrograde etc. (I’m exaggerating but it can feel that chaotic). Trying to fix everything at once is how you end up tweaking subject lines and creating new headers and wondering why nothing changed.

So let’s figure out where you actually are. See which of these three scenarios sounds like you.

"Everything looks fine. So why isn’t anything converting?"

The open rate is decent. People respond with warm replies. And yet it’s crickets when it comes to clicks, and even more crickets – boxes full of chirping crickets –  when it comes to sales. You’ve tried tweaking your subject lines. Maybe you’ve tried emailing more, then less. Nothing moves the needle and you genuinely cannot figure out why.

This one is sneaky because the surface metrics make it hard to see. The problem isn’t usually what you think it is.

Take J., a money coach with a list of about 500 people and open rates in the 30–40% range. Genuinely warm writer with a great offer she’d run successfully several times. But her fall launch ended with a click rate of 0.13%.

Not 1.3%. POINT ONE THREE.

When we dug in, the issue wasn’t her subject lines. It wasn’t her offer. It was that her emails were so empathetic — so good at making readers feel seen — that they resolved the reader’s tension before she ever got to the offer. People finished her emails feeling seen and understood and then they closed the tab. They didn’t need to click because the email had already given them the reassurance that it was natural to feel the way they did.

If that sounds familiar, you could probably use a diagnostic – a second set of (expert) eyes. That’s what a Stop the Leaks session is — a $97 one-on-one call where I look at your actual emails, your numbers, and your setup. You leave with a clear, prioritized list of what’s leaking revenue and what to fix first so you can stop guessing.

"I actually know what’s wrong. I just can’t seem to fix it on my own."

M. is a divorce mediator and parent coach. She came to me knowing something was off — she just couldn’t get enough distance from her own stuff to see it clearly.

We got into it together and found a few things pretty quickly: a 20-page ebook as her lead magnet (I say this with so much love: no one is opting in for that anymore), one email a month, and a subject line that said, verbatim, “[Month] Newsletter.”

She wasn’t making catastrophic mistakes. She’d just never had someone in the room to say: here’s what’s actually costing you, and here’s what to swap in instead. Once we brainstormed some sharper subject lines, outlined a lead magnet her audience actually wanted, and started sending weekly, her list grew, her open rate went up by a whole 10% and her bookings nearly doubled. (I regret to inform you that more emails usually mean more bookings and more clients.)

This is the proximity problem. You can spot issues in other people’s emails all day. Your own? Much harder. It’s less a knowledge or skill gap and more a perspective gap.

My Email Strategy Session is 90 minutes where we work through your actual emails together. We diagnose, we write, we fix things in real time. You leave with better copy and a clear next step — not a to-do list to figure out on your own later. If you really just need someone to hold your hand while you write your welcome sequence, I’m here for that, too.

"I don’t need a tweak. I need the whole thing built."

Scattered “launch-only” email marketing. Or no real email strategy at all. Or maybe something you set up a while ago that you’ve kind of outgrown. Whatever the situation, you’re past the point of small fixes and you absolutely do not have the time or bandwidth to design the system you need. That system might look like a funnel that actually brings people in, sequences that nurture before they sell, launch emails that convert, segmented list, whatever. But it needs to be built intentionally around your actual offers.

That’s the 90-Day Email Intensive.

I built it for service providers, consultants, coaches and other expertise-based businesses who have something genuinely worth selling and an audience that needs to hear about it but whose email marketing isn’t doing that job yet.

We spend 90 days building your email system from scratch: strategy, sequences, copy, metrics. All of it specific to you, none of it templated. (And when I say “we” I mean you approve the general direction and the content that underpins it and I do the rest.)

I’m currently working with founding clients on this, which means a more hands-on experience than I’ll be able to offer once it’s fully up and running — at a rate that reflects that. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to actually build this out, this is a pretty good one.

Still not sure what would be most helpful?

Genuinely, just reach out. Tell me what’s going on and I’ll tell you where I’d start. Two or three questions — and I promise not to pitch you!
